Coming soon!
2019 has turned into the the 80’s all over again! This year Phoenix has enjoyed such rock icons as Billy Joel, The Rolling Stones, Mark Knopfler and Kansas to name a few. The latest 80’s superstar to come to the Valley of the Sun was Phil Collins. The years have not been kind to Phil with a variety if ailments and surgeries that have taken away his ability to play the drums. He walked on stage with the help of a cane and sat in a chair throughout the evening but to his credit and the crowds benefit Phil Collins can still sing and has all of the enthusiasm sense of humor that he did back in the day. And fear not – His 18 year old son Nicholas has taken the reigns on drums and has picked up quite nicely where his dad left off.

Mesa Arts Center
Mesa, Arizona
Hard to believe that Kansas released “Point of Know Return” 42 years ago but here we are! The iconic band returned to Arizona with a stop at the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Arizona. Phil Ehart (drums/percussion) and Richard Williams (Guitar) are the 2 remaining original members but the sound remains as good as it was in the 1970’s.

The stage was filled with incredibly talented musicians which kept the capacity crowd at Comerica theater engaged throughout the night.

Ikeda Theater
Mesa, Arizona
Chris Isaak returned to the Valley of the Sun with another great concert at Ikeda Theater in Mesa, Arizona on August 27, 2019. He never fails to deliver both musically and from an entertainment standpoint and this show was no exception. Chris Isaak and his Silvertone bandmates have been together for more than 30 years and it is easy to see that each of these musicians thoroughly enjoy each other and making great music.
Continue reading “Chris Isaak”Brit Floyd returned to Comerica Theater and for the 2nd year in a row we had the honor and pleasure of photographing the show from start to finish. Frankly this is a tough band to photograph. Why? I find myself wanting to just sit back and enjoy the incredible music and light show but then realize I have a job to do. Musical Director Damian Darlington (guitar, lapsteel and vocals) brought the “40 Years of the Wall” 2019 Tour to a packed house and once again Brit Floyd did not disappoint.
You owe it to yourself to add this album to your collection!
Like fathers, like sons. Devon Allman and Duane Betts are following in Greg and Dickey’s footsteps with their own original music mixed in with Allman Brothers classics. The very enthusiastic, near capacity crowd at the Chandler Center for the Arts were hoping for a throwback evening to the days of ABB and Allman Betts Band did not disappoint.
Continue reading “Allman Betts Band”I ain’t gonna lie – This concert was a bucket list item for us and was an absolute blast to photograph! To this day I contend that Billy Joel is one of the finest singer/songwriter/entertainers of our generation. Tonight’s show continued to prove me correct. We will be forever grateful to “person who shall remain anonymous” for taking a chance on Renae and I to photograph this show for them. We sincerely hope we did you proud!
Continue reading “Billy Joel” We first saw Grammy nominated The Record Company (TRC) when they opened for Bob Seger at Talking Stick Arena in Phoenix on February 15, 2019. We were totally impressed and blown away by the energy and amazing sound that Chris Vos, (vocals, guitar, harmonica) Alex Stiff, (Bass, vocals, harmonica) and Marc Cazorla (drums, vocals) produced during their way to brief 30-minute set. They were the perfect band to open for the veteran Seger who, at 73, has not lost a step.
The world lost Mike “Beard Guy” Taylor on December 29, 2018 when he died peacefully in his sleep.
We had the honor of photographing the WOTE concert in March in Phoenix. I was in the alley behind the venue waiting on our photo credentials before the show when Mike walked out. We only spoke for a few minutes, but I got the sense of what a genuinely nice and caring person he was. He wanted to know what kind of camera equipment we used and what other concerts we had photographed. He asked if we wouldn’t mind taking some shots of him at the show that night and emailing them to him. He was working on a project and needed some candid shots of himself. We exchanged info, shook hands and he headed off to get a bite to eat. Continue reading “RIP Mike “Beard Guy” Taylor”
I am thoroughly embarrassed to admit that I had not heard of Elyse Davis nor had I heard her sing this amazing rendition of Greensleeves until today! I do consider myself a huge fan of Mannheim Steamroller however I have apparently failed since the following video has been around since 2014.
Continue reading “Elyse Davis”We have been following Arizona’s own Rock Lobster for years and in our opinion they are hands down the best 80’s cover band in Arizona! They have mastered a catalog of hits from Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” to The Buggles “Video Killed the Radio Star” to Cyndi Lauper’s “Girl’s Just Want to Have Fun” and a litany of other classics.

Rodrigo y Gabriela are arguably the most prominent flamenco guitarists touring the globe today. And they graced a near capacity crowd at the beautiful Mesa Arts Center on August 26, 2018. If you are not a fan of flamenco music you certainly would be after hearing Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero perform. They may be best known for “Diablo Rojo” which has gained plenty of airtime over the past few years, but they have also contributed to soundtracks for Pirates of the Caribbean and Puss in Boots to name a few.
Continue reading “Rodrigo y Gabriela”This was our 3rd time enjoying a Chris Isaak concert and there is a very good reason for that: A Chris Isaak concert is one of the more enjoyable concerts you will see!
This show was once again at the famed Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, Arizona on the infamous revolving stage. And once again the exuberant crowd was not left disappointed. Chris is a true gentleman, a fantastic musician and a damn funny fellow! A Chris Isaak concert is a mix of great music, stories and non-stop ribbing of the musicians.
I have been a fan of Pink Floyd since back in the day but never had the chance to experience them in person. I firmly believe that after hearing Brit Floyd perform at Comerica Theater on June 30, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona I now know what it was like to be at Pink Floyd concert in person.
